Who else has a bookshelf, or a cabinet, or a curio that basically tells their life story? Let’s see it!
The Fall to Remember project has me digging up old treasures all over the house. Tennyson is one of my favorite poets, and Tears, Idle Tears is one of his most haunting poems.
The version you see above is from a 5 book poetry anthology that has been in my family for a long time. Just a few years before my grandmother died, she asked if there was anything in the house that I’d want when she was called home. I told her that I’d like that anthology- so, she gave it to me early, while she could enjoy the moment.
That got me to thinking – wow, this bookshelf of mine must look like a cluttered mess to folks (and no doubt it is), but in reality, it’s more than that to me. It’s a gallery of my most cherished moments, the people who filled them and the places they unfolded. In fact, if someone really wanted to know me (heavens forbid), they could read my office bookshelf like an anthology of my life.
Now, let’s see your anthology!
